SMC 2150 Practicum I: Sport Management

Field experiences yield the necessity of receiving direction, undertaking responsibility, and demonstrating competence by applying theory learned from course work. Course helps students discover career options and confirm career choices. Practicum site should align with the student's career goals and must have academic advisor's approval. The Sport Management Practicum Manual will serve as the guiding reference and will include the following benchmark requirements (documented observation time logs, weekly journals, summary of learning experience, practicum site supervisor evaluation and a practicum-specific assignment). A minimum of 40 contact hours required. This course will be taken concurrently with the SMC 2050 Introduction to Sport Management course. Graded S/U.
