CMN 2010 Introduction to Chaplaincy Ministries
This course is a starting point to learn about pastoral care (chaplaincy) for workers, impacted individuals (patients, victims, observers, etc.) and families dealing with uncertainty, mortality, stress, or trauma. It is appropriate for individuals who want to deliver this type of care or may serve in other roles and want to understand what skills and knowledge are important for individuals serving in these roles. It presents a wide-angle look at an array of settings in which a chaplain may function. It will help the student to envision ministry appropriate for pluralistic settings outside the walls of the church and analyze his or her gifts that may align with the unique requirements in non-traditional settings.
