Student Appeal Procedure
All appeals in the doctoral program will follow the process below:
1. Submit the issue of concern, in writing on the Student Appeal Form, to the teaching or
advising faculty involved within 15 calendar days of the incident. The faculty member will
provide a written response within 15 calendar days of receiving the written notification from
the student.
2. If the student is not satisfied with the faculty member's response or lack of response, the
student can submit, in writing – continuing to use the same Student Appeal Form, the issue
of concern to the Program Leader within seven calendar days of the faculty's response. The
Program Leader will respond within seven calendar days.
3.If the student is not satisfied with the Program Leader's response or lack thereof, the student
can submit, in writing – continuing to use the same Student Appeal Form, the issue of concern
to the Dean within seven calendar days of the Program Leader's response.
4. Once the concern is submitted to the Dean, the Doctoral Council will hear the appeal. The
student will be notified of the decision within 15 calendar days.
The Doctoral Council's decision is final.
