NUR 3006 Research and EBP

This course provides an introduction to the research and evidenced based practices (EBP) that are foundational to the discipline and science of nursing. The purpose of this course is to provide the nursing student a research and EBP model designed to meet the standards set forth in the scientific method of inquiry. This course is also designed to describe the general principles of research and EBP based in the identification of a problem in the clinical setting through the development of a literature review to determine a solution to the problem. The distinction of the course is to determine if research findings are strong or weak related to problem solutions and the methods utilized to conduct a research investigation or an EBP project. The course will focus on clinical decision making while supporting critical thinking used by the nurse to assess problems and find solutions from the research.
