An introduction to theatre management—including arts administration and stage management—with a focus on essential professional skills and expectations, industry-standard organizational practices, and tools for the acquisition of appropriate resources. Familiarization with arts administration includes budgeting, licensing, grant-writing, hiring personnel, box office, house management, audience development, and an understanding of ethics including censorship, copyright laws, and unions. Facets of stage management include rehearsal management strategies, production scheduling, performance best practices, helpful tools for production team collaboration, and trouble-shooting solutions.
