MUS 4310 Vocal Literature

This course is designed to survey the development of western solo vocal literature from approximately 1550 to the present, with emphasis on Italian, German, French, English, and American song. Opera and oratorio literature will be discussed as it pertains to the progression of solo song but is not the focus of this course.
